Setting up

At the first start fennec guides you through three steps. Each step checks by itself whether it is done.

  1. Set up the service

The service keeps the tunnels up while the window is closed. The system asks for your password once; fennec never asks again to switch.

  2. Take over configurations

fennec looks for WireGuard and OpenVPN configurations in the usual places. You take them over or create the first tunnel.

  3. Allow notifications

fennec tells you when a tunnel drops or needs a sign-in.

On Windows the installer sets up the service; there the first step is already done.
